Never will be a smooth road.

Hey there my friends. It’s 2.30 AM now and what am I doing here? Well there’s too many things going in my mind now hence keeping my awake. Too many ideas till I don’t know where to start. My brain is practically blocked right now. Well it has happened for the past few days already.

I knew from the start that this wouldn’t be a smooth journey. But I also did think that it would be this tough. I have to thank God for the patience he gave me. No matter how tough the journey is I know I won’t give up. Never had I thought of giving up. Let’s just say it is not an option. In the past, I’ve made a lot of mistakes by giving up halfway in many events last time. But it won’t happen anymore. I always tell myself now and then that once I make a decision I will go with it till the end. Hence giving up is not an option this time.

Before this, I wanted to complete everything in a week. But after I chatted with a few people I knew it was impossible. From now on I shall take it easy and move at a slower pace. This way I think I will be able to sleep better. My biggest problem now is setting up a protem committee. I do not want to get my friends too involved in this because I know they already have a hectic schedule themselves. But then again I do not know who else I can turn to besides them. Because they are the only ones I can trust. They are the ones whom I know who are capable of.

Standing alone will not bring YICO far. No matter where, teamwork is really important. Imagine 10 person versus only one person in a competition, no matter how smart or capable that one person is he will not be able to defeat the team of 10 person. That example works the same everywhere else. I really hope I’ll be able to set up a team as soon as possible so that we can move on to register our organization.

Lastly, those who are interested to join YICO please come forward as we need your service. We at YICO does not discriminate by race, religion and gender. As long as you have a good heart and a good attitude you are most welcome to join us.

Thank You for reading.

The People behind YICO!

Good Day! Good Day Everyone! A new start for a new day!

In this post I am going to introduce myself for a start. I'll try my best to make you understand me better.

First of all and most importantly, my name is Philip Yong. Nice name isn't it? Well at least to me. I always believe that we should be confident and be proud of ourself. If we want to help other people live a better life then we should live a positive life ourself first. And being confident will ensure you a positive life. Well, not overboard though.

How old am I?
I hope I don't sound too old because I'll be only turning 18 next month! Yup only 18 but with a big dream and hope. I really hope one day YICO will be the gateway for all youths to serve the community. For that, I shall work even harder to make this a success.

When I started to have the enthusiasm to do charity?
Well, I think it started after I join my high school's scouts troop. At that time my school was still a very new school. It was only entering its second year when I joined the school. And at that year the scouts troop was formed. Since then I became very active in school and participated in many activities including charity ones. Being a scout I did not just learn what the book teaches me but as well as a whole new meaning of life. I believe that everyone should be given a fair chance to live their life. Therefore with YICO, I wish to bring HOPE to the less fortunate community.

What are my hobbies?
I remember when I was in primary school I was kinda lost. Lost in the sense that I did not know what I wanted to do all the time. Making my primary school years kind of dull. But that changed after I entered high school. Since my school was very new making my year of students the second batch, we were given the opportunity to lead the school. At a very young age, we were already carrying out activities on our own. That I think is a blessing from God. I mean like how often do you have to lead at a young age right? Oh yeah so back to my hobbies, I love challenging activities such as mountain climbing, camping and so on. You know the usual stuff scouts does. Everytime I step into the jungle I feel like I am at home. I know its weird to feel that way but that is the truth.

What are my dreams/goals?
I often tell people that those whom do not have dreams are prepared to fail. I always believe that if we have dreams we will strive for the best! We will work towards our dream like what I am doing now for YICO! Besides forming a charity organisation, I have another big dream. My dream to become a successful entrepreneur and a corporate leader. Big dream I know but it is not impossible. As long as I am alive I will work towards that goal.

I think I should end it here or you guys will be bored of reading about me. If you're interested in my personal life head on to www.philipyong.com. Thank You for spending your precious time reading this!

What is the meaning of Youth Inspire?

Youth Inspire - What comes across your mind when you read those 2 words?

I asked a couple of my friends and one of them gave me a close enough answer. He replied, 'A group of young adults doing something for a cause?' BINGO was what I said in my heart.

The definition of Youth according to dictionary.com is 'the appearance, freshness, vigor, spirit, etc., characteristic of one who is young'.

The definition of Inspire according to the same sourse is 'to give inspiration'.

So there you go. The reason why I chose this name for the organisation is because I wanted YICO to give inspiration to all youths out there! Inspiration to serve the community. Inspiration to help those in need.

It is also easier to talk then getting things done, therefore with YICO I hope to inspire youths from all walks to do charity. In lay man's term, YICO will be the middle man of youths and the underprivileged community. We will be the bridge to connect them together. Only people who cares for one another will be respected by everyone.

A very good example is Bill Gates. He is one of the greatest philanthropist in the world. If you haven't heard of him being one then go google his name. You will be impressed. Many of the rich and powerful people in the world are where they are today because they have a good heart and are always doing charity. That is why I personally always respected those people.

Coming back to topic, I really hope YICO will be able to connect all youths with the less fortunate ones in this world. Even in the definition of youth it mentioned that we youths have the spirit and the freshness. Let us use what we have to help other people.

I leave you with a meaningful quote, “Behold I do not give lectures or a little charity, When I give I give myself”.

WELCOME TO YICO!

Greetings! A warm welcome to Youth Inspire Charity Organization (YICO)!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to YICO. At the time of you reading this, YICO is still in the midst of getting registered with the Registry of Societies. The idea of forming YICO came when I felt that we youths can do a lot to contribute to the society. Especially the less fortunate community.

The main idea of YICO is to gather youths from all walks under one roof to serve the less fortunate community. To help those who are in need to be exact. As I myself had been involved in many charity projects and community services I realise there are many youths out there who shares the same desire as me but do not know where to start from. Therefore I hope YICO will be the bridge for all youths in Malaysia to get connected with the those in need.

We are young, Innovative and have full of energy! Trust me, together we can do a lot to make dreams come true. My motto is ‘never to lie down at night without being able to say, "I have made one human being at least a little wiser, a little happier or a little better this day.’

While YICO is still being registered, I will keep all of you informed of our progress. This blog serves as a temporary portal for us to connect with the community. When YICO is finally formed a permanent website will be launched. The URL for our our temporary blog and permanent website will be www.youthinspire.org. I urge those who knows any reliable web design company to come forward to lead us a hand.

Also we will be recruiting members to join YICO with a small fee in the near future. Those who are interested to join can leave your e-mail address in our comment page. We will inform you once we start recruiting members.

Till then, stay tuned for more updates.. Thank You!
